Technical Sales Manager

In this role, you will lead the pre-sales effort in South Africa and partner with the sales and
business development teams to seek out new opportunities and formulate client-focused value
propositions. You will establish a trusted relationship with the client and strong understanding
of the Client’s business and technical ecosystem. The successful candidate should be at ease
working autonomously in a fast-paced environment where they manage several prospects at a
time.
The Technical Sales Manager will need to be an expert communicator with strong technical and
interpersonal skills. You must be capable of understanding the complex needs of our clients and
translating them into specifications for technical solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide business and technology expertise to clients through presentations,
workshops, product demos, and bids/tendering to promote company products
• Initiate, identify and qualify business opportunities through consultative solution
selling approach
• Apply subject matter expertise to address the client business needs with a technical
solution according to the client budget and timelines
• Define and present a technical solution specifically modelled for the Client, based
on the company product and services portfolio offerings
• Articulate solution benefits and quantified ROI and present the business case to the
client
• Gather client requirements and high-level design of the solution architecture
according to the captured requirements including different delivery models such as
on-premises and/or SaaS/cloud
• Write and maintain the scope of work, costing calculation, the detailed technical
proposal, and solution design
• Prepare and execute client workshops, including white-boarding and presentation
to a technical and non-technical client audience
• Duties includes RFI, RFP responses and Bid Management for both small and large
solution offering, including products, solutions, software and services, with
efficient use of company resources
• Handover the technical scope to the project team and provide technical and
business guidance whilst ensuring the alignment of the agreed project scope and
budget
• Support the delivery phase by participating in the project specification workshops
with the customers and writing the detailed specification
• Participate in the development of the product roadmap with the multiple
stakeholders such as Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing

Requirements
• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in software engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years’ experience of presales technical sales support within Software
sales, preferably from BSS vendors like Comviva, 6d Technologies, Amdocs, Openet,
Netcracker, Ericsson…..
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working towards quota of $2M +
• Previous / current role in a telecom operator as BSS engineering/planning architect
is strong plus
• Strong competence in Telco BSS architecture and the following areas: IN & prepaid
platforms, Billing, Order management, Campaign Management, CRM, VAS, eTopup,
Voucher Management, Dealer Management, Inventory Management
• Role is based out of Johannesburg, South Africa. Applicants for employment in the
South Africa must have work authorization that does not now or in the future
require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in South Africa
• Language Fluent in English and additional 1-2 languages.
• Availability for frequent traveling within the region for client meetings, whenever
required and permitted.
