Job Purpose

  1. Identify and develop new products and associated process technologies for sustainable business growth and thus ensure implementation and commercialization of agreed products
  2. Drive the innovation process together with the Marketing, Production and senior management team and build a strong innovation led product pipeline for Icompany
  3. Support the Oils and Fats and Bakery Ingredients business by conceptualizing and developing new products
  4. Constantly benchmark and improve existing products to suit requirements of company’s clientele

Key Responsibilities

Strategic

  1. Contribute to the top-line of company group through market leading innovation and renovation of existing products
  2. Support the Group in achievement of their commercial targets through leading new product development, launching new categories and products suiting varied tastes of markets in which company operates
  3. Conduct external benchmarking and maintain a best in class product portfolio for companythrough constant innovation and product improvement
  4. Support Icompany in moving away from commodity based to value added specialty products in Oils and Fats
  5. Support the business units in reduction of production costs and optimization of new technology investments

Operational

  1. Oversee development of new products throughout the new product development life-cycle and provide guidance to the R&D team
  2. Take overall accountability for all new product development projects being executed by the R&D teams
  3. Drive the new product development vertical for company Oils and Fats through launch of new and improved products and constantly improve upon quality and performance of existing products
  4. Interact with technology suppliers and consultants for technology development and conduct broad evaluation of process technology, preliminary cost and project proposals.
  5. Lead value engineering initiatives for the R&D team with an aim to cut down cost of production and contribute to the bottom-line
  6. Ensure deployment of process development plans including evaluation of outsourcing technology / modification of technology. Identify products based on internal synergies and manufacturing process capabilities, consumer demand, analysis of competitors and their product portfolio

Qualifications

  • Masters in Food Technology or Chemistry(Mandatory)
  • PHD in Food Technology or related field (desirable)
